OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (WLNS) – A Michigan woman is being held on $1 million bond after allegedly killing an MSU student in a crash and then fleeing to Thailand.
Tubtim “Sue” Howson, 57, has been charged in connection with the death of 22-year-old Benjamin Cable.
Howson was driving on Rochester Road in Oakland on Jan. 1, according to police. She then crashed into 22-year-old Benjamin Cable, an MSU student, who was walking on the sidewalk.
Police say Howson fled the scene and then, two days later, fled to Thailand to avoid felony charges. Howson holds dual US-Thai citizenship.
Howson was found by Thai authorities and returned to the United States
Howson now faces a charge of failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in death, a five-year felony.
