Lansing, Michigan (WLNS) – Two batches of frozen apple puree have been recalled by Vadilal Industries (USA) Inc. due to possible salmonella infection.

Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children.

People infected with salmonella may experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

The product was distributed nationwide and sold in packs of 35.27 ounces. Batch codes are printed on the back of the package. Product code, description, lot code, UPC and best information are given below.

The recall was initiated after the FDA received a complaint stating that five people had fallen ill. The FDA conducted some tests and found the presence salmonella in the product.
