EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — While you’ve been quiet, the Community Engagement and Extension (PEACE) team has been busy.

The PEACE Team is the East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) and the Michigan State University Department of Police and Public Safety joint efforts to address community concerns on both sides of Grand River Avenue.

At the start of their shift, the team saw a man who was not dressed for the frigid mid-Michigan.

By raising money, the officers were able to purchase a jacket, warm socks, food and a gift card to a restaurant.

But that’s not all the PEACE team is up to, a Facebook post from ELPD said.

Later that night, the team confiscated illegal weapons from a group of people.
