A fire damaged the warehouse and offices of solar panels in Brighton Township on Wednesday night, fire officials said.

Mike Evans, deputy chief of the Brighton Fire Department, said the fire at The Green Panel, in the 4000 Old US 23 quarter in Brighton Township, resulted in “significant” fire damage in the back of the warehouse and smoke damage in offices.

Firefighters were dispatched around 8pm after receiving a report of smoke from the building. The green panel is housed in a commercial building of about 40,000 square feet that is also occupied by other businesses.

Evans said the fire was localized in part of the Green Panel structure in the southern part of the building.

“We were able to gain access, and the rear was heavily involved in the fire,” he said.
