CALÓN, Panama (AP) — The unveiling of a futuristic luxury model home on Panama’s Caribbean coast failed Thursday when a SeaPod Eco prototype sat above water on a column that sank onto a nearby dock.
The developer, Ocean Builders, said in a statement that the sleek white house began to “destabilize” at the end of the launch event. It is reported that no one was injured and the reasons are being investigated.
The house, which resembles a spaceship, is located well above the water and has a wide view from a row of windows. The developers planned to start listing the homes for sale next year, touting them as green and economical.
