ALLENDAIL CHARTER TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN (WOOD) – A woman is in hospital in critical condition Saturday night after an accident on Filmar Street that crushed her in a car.
According to Ottawa County dispatchers, the accident happened shortly after 8pm between 52nd and 48th avenues.
A 25-year-old woman was driving a 2010 Hyundai car heading west on Filmar Street when the car crossed downtown and crashed into the sidewalk of the east lane. The car then ran into a large metal pipe on the side of the road, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
When officers responded, they found that the driver was trapped in the car. Allendale firefighters released the woman and she was taken to Butterworth Hospital in critical condition, deputies said.
Filmar Street remains closed between 48th and 52nd Avenues. This accident is still under investigation.
