Things to remember:

  • Park in well-lit areas
  • Do not leave bags on the car seat
  • Be aware of your surroundings when getting in and out of the car
  • Avoid carrying large amounts of cash
  • Keep your purse or wallet in the inside pocket
  • Ask an employee for help when loading bulky items into the car
  • Plan a meeting place in case you get separated from friends or family you’re shopping with

Also, ahead of Black Friday and Cyber ​​Monday, the Better Business Bureau launched the “Shop Safe, Shop Smart” campaign.

The campaign focuses on safety tips to keep in mind while shopping onlineincluding using credit cards instead of debit cards, making sure you buy from secure websites and don’t fall for anything that sounds too good to be true.
