GARAND ZEALAND, Michigan (DRES) – A section of Byron Road in the city of Zealand will be closed for several months to build a bridge, according to the Ottawa County Roads Commission.
The Byron Road Bridge over the Black River River is being upgraded thanks to a pilot bridge bridging program in Michigan. The work will include replacing beams and decks and renovating entrances to both ends of the bridge, the county said.
Due to the construction of the Byron Road section between I-196 and 76th Avenue will be completely closed to traffic for the entire project, which is expected to run from March 7 to June 5, Ottawa County said.
There will be two detour routes: M-121 (Chicago Drive) and 64th Avenue.
