MARSHALL, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman who allegedly tried to kill a man in Marshall is in custody, police say.
Police went to the McClellan Apartments near the intersection of West Drive and Verona Road on Friday around 4:45 p.m. They responded to a report of a man bleeding and a woman fleeing the scene in a black car with a child in tow, according to a Friday Facebook post from the Marshall Township Police Department.
In the apartments, the police found a 49-year-old man who was apparently injured with scissors.
The man was taken to a local hospital. The injuries received are not life-threatening.
A crash involving the vehicle described in the report occurred later Friday on Michigan Avenue at I-69.
The woman driving the car fled on foot, police said. According to them, she left a 2-year-old child in the car, who was not injured in the accident.
The police took the woman into custody.
A 31-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital where she assaulted an employee, police said.
After leaving the hospital, she will be taken to prison. Police said she faces charges of attempted murder and child endangerment, as well as resisting arrest and assault.
As of Friday evening, no names had been released.
