GRAND RAPIDS — One of West Michigan’s largest office furniture manufacturers will cut 180 full-time jobs amid declining orders, inflation and supply chain issues.

Steelcase Inc. said in its second-quarter earnings report on Wednesday that it would cut positions in the Americas and its corporate divisions in response to a 20 percent year-over-year decline in orders in the first few weeks of the third quarter. .

The company said it would make the cuts by mid-October. He would not disclose how many would happen in Michigan, but confirmed there would be cuts in Grand Rapids.
