WESTERN MICHIGAN – FOX Meteorologist Forecast 17 Hailey Vaughn: Happy First Day of Spring! Saturday’s system and wet weather are rapidly receding to Western Michigan this morning! This morning will remain slightly cloudy and foggy in places, otherwise dry skies. During the day the clouds are gradually decreasing, this afternoon will be mostly sunny. The temperature today will rise to the mark of the 50s. In places around I-94 the temperature will be above 50! Spring officially comes on Sunday, March 20, at 11:33 p.m. This is called the vernal / spring equinox with approximately 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness. Monday brings a mixture of sun and clouds, with temperatures returning to almost 60 degrees. The system will track Northern Michigan on Monday, providing slightly more cloud cover in Western Michigan. Rain is possible from the Great Rapids to the north. The best chance of rain in Grand Rapids in the south will be a system evolving over our region on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The temperature these days will only reach 40 degrees.
