DETROIT (AP) — Michigan State Police say troopers have shot and killed a man who opened fire on them Tuesday night in Detroit.
One officer told dispatchers they came under a green laser that the suspect was shining from the second floor of the home, police said in series of tweets.
A few minutes later, the first soldier reported that they were being shot at from the house.
Troopers approaching the home on foot encountered the suspect, who came out of the home and opened fire, and the troopers returned fire, police said.
The man died at the scene, police said.
Members of the State Police Homicide Task Force responded and are investigating, police said.
