HOWELL – Police say a man driving a stolen SUV and his passenger were injured when they crashed into a home near the corner of Sanford and Fawcett roads north of Howell after a brief chase through the city.

The driver, a 42-year-old Allen Park man, and his passenger, a 49-year-old Romulus man, were arrested and taken by Livingston County EMS to St. Joseph Livingston Hospital for treatment of injuries from the crash, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. says the press release.

The driver is expected to face charges in Livingston County, but has not yet been arraigned.

According to the release, at approximately 2:47 p.m., Livingston County deputies were patrolling Interstate 96 near M-59 on Monday when they attempted to pull over a 2014 Ford Explorer believed to have been stolen from Melvindale.
