Kalamazoo, Michigan (WOOD) – Police say the suspect was arrested after stabbing a woman several times in the Northside Kalamazoo area.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said that at around 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, officers were called in on a report of a woman stabbed in E. Bush Street near the intersection of N. Berdyk Street.

Officers found a 30-year-old woman on the ground with multiple stab wounds. She was taken to hospital, where she is in stable condition, according to the KPSP.

The suspect in the stab wound, a 36-year-old Kalamazoo resident, was arrested and taken to Kalamazoo County Jail, Kalamazoo police said.

The name of the suspect is not reported.
