FLINT, Mich. – Genesee County District Court Judge Joseph J. Farah will retire Nov. 9, according to an announcement made Wednesday, Aug. 10, by Genesee County officials.

In 1998, Farah was appointed to the Genesee County bench by then-Governor John Engler. He succeeds Genesee District Court Judge Thomas S. Yetis

Prior to that, Farah practiced law for 18 years.

Farah could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

The judge served on the civil and criminal courts of the 7th Circuit Court of Genesee County.

Farah’s community involvement has included work with the West Flint Optimist Club and Metro Community Development, Inc.

Since 2009, he has been an adjunct professor at the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law.
