Eli Little’s path as a chef had some twists and turns during the pandemic, but January marked the beginning of a new chapter in Little’s culinary history.

Mom and business owner from the town of Oceola opened LaLa’s Too, a new grocery store at 529 W. Main St. in Brighton. She said she had been developing the idea of “enhanced comfort food” for some time.

Its small shop window in central Brighton serves as a “grab and go” style institution. It has no internal dining area or kitchen. She and her staff prepare meals, salads, sandwiches and snacks in the shared kitchen at Dexter.

“The food changes every two weeks. I, as a chef, love change. Restaurants usually have the same menu and never change it. For me, it’s really a use of what people like and what’s available in season, and I get things from farmers and livestock breeders ”.
