Dr. David Bryant has joined the Detroit Medical Center as the medical system’s chief obstetrics and gynecology specialist.

Bryant will provide medical leadership and leadership for the obstetrics and gynecology department and will be instrumental in the continued development of the program. He graduated from Kent State University with honors in biological sciences and received his medical degree from Northeast Ohio State University College of Medicine.

He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at William Beaumont Hospital, receiving the Harold Longyear Award for Most Outstanding Alumnus.

He then completed a Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship at DMC Hutzel Women’s Hospital. After completing his residency training in 1997, he was an associate professor at the Ohio State College of Medicine, a senior physician at Henry Ford Hospital, and director of obstetrics at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor.

Bryant’s clinical practice spans the breadth and depth of maternal-fetal medicine in both inpatient and outpatient settings. His primary clinical interests include labor and delivery in both normal and high-risk pregnancies, operative vaginal delivery, and clinical care of maternal medical conditions, particularly maternal diabetes and opioid use disorders.
