ST. Joseph County, Michigan – Michigan State Police are investigating a stolen car that was involved in an accident and the driver fled the scene earlier this year.

At noon Sunday, the MSP announced they were investigating a car that was stolen just after 1 a.m. Jan. 21 from a 54,000-person home in the Johnson Road neighborhood of Lockport, St. Joseph County. According to the military, the car – a silver four-door Saturn 2003 release – was then involved in an accident on US 131 and Lovers Lane, and the driver fled the scene.

According to the military, it is unknown whether the cause of the crash was alcohol or drugs.
